Market access is achieved through research and building the capacity of employees within the business to develop marketing and sales strategies tailored to the specific opportunities presented by target markets. We engage the client business to research analyse market demands, market segments, distribution channels and market requirements to inform these strategies.
This project was done in collaboration with the Centre for Fair and Alternative Trade (CFAT) and the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) and focussed on the capacity building of emerging farmers in the Rooibos Industry to enable sustained development and market access.
Rural Horizons is an online platform that was developed by Solidaridad to enable smallholder farmers to assess their farming practice against 4 pillars of sustainability including production, environmental, social and business.
