  • The Rooibos market access project was done in collaboration with the Centre for Fair and Alternative Trade (CFAT) and the Institute for Poverty, Land and Agrarian Studies (PLAAS) and focussed on the capacity building of emerging farmers in the Rooibos Industry to enable sustained development and market access. In particular, the train-the-trainer programme focussed on Good Agricultural Practice, Organic Farming, Record Keeping, Standards and Certification. Lead farmers were identified to participate in the training programme and be part of the research and training processes in their own communities.
